Before I get into the post, I have to brag about the cutest little coffee spot near my house (where these pics were taken). Devil’s Food Bakery and Cookery has been an established Wash Park restaurant for almost ten years. The food is super yummy and the atmosphere has a neighborhood feel that is cozy, inviting and everything you’d want when you are in the mood for brunch (my faves are the avo toast or huevos rancheros). But what kept me coming back was their coffee and pastries. You guys – the chocolate chip scones are no joke. I could (and sometimes do) eat one everyday. Anyway, a few weeks ago, Devil’s Food separated their bakery from their restaurant. The result is this adorable coffeehouse with counters FULL of freshly baked goods (homemade poptarts!) and the most amazing espresso drinks in Denver. The coffeehouse is just a few doors down from the original location that still exists as a restaurant open for both brunch and supper. If you’re in Denver or coming for a visit, I highly recommend (obviously) — just a few blocks from Wash Park and on the same street as some fun boutiques.
Now to floral dresses…
I’ve been in love with these flowy dresses lately, especially anything in a floral pattern. They make for an easy, chic outfit and are perfectly comfortable to wear all day. Even better, with a quick shoe/bag change (or maybe not), they transition well into evening for happy hour or a casual dinner.
I love wearing dresses with ankle booties. This can be difficult to pull of in winter, especially in Colorado, so pairing with over the knee boots or even tights with rain boots (weather dependent) is perfectly fine. There are so many adorable floral, flowy dresses available, so I’ve linked several fun combinations below:
I love this combo – darker floral dress, black OTK boots and a fun black clutch.
